Looking for an end to hunger in southern Colorado, 94 cents of every dollar goes to support food acquisition and distribution. A new facility showcases fruit trees, vegetables gardens and permaculture gardens to provide fresh, nutritious food to those who need it most.

The Green Cities Coalition promotes ecologically, economically and socially healthy communities in El Paso County for the benefit of present and future residents of the Pikes Peak region. The Local Foods Working Group promotes access to and expansion of locally grown food through education and collaboration.

Business operation consultations as well as a Sustainable Business Certification program offer members  access to achieveing a successful triple bottom line.

PPUG helps build community gardens in neighborhoods, at schools, businesses and churches in the Colorado Springs area. On-going organic gardening classes are also offered throughout the year and they operate a demonstration vegetable garden on the historic Harlan Wolfe Ranch property. Their extensive website has numerous tips for the beginner or seasoned gardener.

This is a prime example of a working ranch, with its amazing staff, dedicated to enhancing the natural world and our Western heritage while building bridges between ranching and urban communities. Chico Basin offers vacation packages for people to experience the life of a modern-day cowboy as well as grass-finished beef, and game bird hunting opportunities. The living history museum of the Pikes Peak Region, allows visitors to experience the lives of the people who lived, worked, hunted, herded and raised families in this area from the 1700s to the early 20th century. Costumed interpreters tell stories and demonstrate the work, tools and abilities of these people.

This historic 190-acre urban farm, owned by the Pikes Peak Community Foundation, raises all-natural vegetables, beef, pork and eggs. Education and volunteer experiences foster community and health by reconnecting people with the source of their food. Venetucci products are sold through CSA, farmers markets, and PPA restaurants.
